     12. Are you puzzled or confused about anything in the story? What is it that confuses you, and why do you find it confusing?

     Yes, I am confused about something something in the story. What I am confused about is how did Ender control the fighter in the battle from a simulator? I find it confusing because he is in a simulator miles away from the real fighter, so how does it control the fighter?

7. Sometimes when we read, certain words or phrases or images stand out. Maybe they are words or phrases that makes an impression because of their sound, or maybe the meaning or image they make strike     us? Sometimes we find words or expressions we just do not understand. Share those that you have come across and describe why you listed them.

     When Alie says "salaam", I get confused because I have no idea what "salaam" means. I also get confused when people call other people "farteaters". Is that a person that eats farts? I don't know.

3. If you could change the setting in this story to another setting, what setting would you choose? Would you change just the time period? Or would you change the place, the season, the actual environment-one of poverty, riches, or middle class America? Why would you make those changes?


    If I could change the setting, I would change the time period. I would change the time period because I could change the time period to present day and could of gone to that school.

     1. In today's reading, did the setting or any of the characters remind you of people or characters in your own personal life? Were any of the situations or events similar to your own life? How were they alike and how were they different?

     The character Ender reminded me of myself. Some situations that are similar to my life are when Ender gets picked on and then defends himself by fighting back. The character Ender is alike to me because we both get picked on and defend ourselves. We are different because we are a different age and we were born in different years. The situations were similar to my life because when Ender gets picked on, he fights back.

     5.If you were to put this story into your own life, in the area where you live, around the people and friends you know, how would the story have to change? How would the people change? Would the setting have to change? Why would these changes have to take place?

         If I was put into the story, the area would be in Hawaii, the people I would know would be my family and my friends. The story would have to change by making me and some of my friends go into space and practice fighting a lot. The people would change by making me and my friends against 18 year-olds in the battle room. The setting would not have to change, as it will still be held in space and in a battle training starship.
